The Woodmen emblem is atop the headstone, which has been weathered by time and the elements. However, the tree stump is visible, with bits of "Dum tacet clamat" below it, and bits of "Woodmen of the World" are visible, above. Interesting about this one is that on the front of the headstone, at the top, are two crossed American flags, flanking "J.A. Rhea". Not essentially a rarity, but it's uncommon to find Union soldiers buried in just any cemetery in the former Confederacy, and the stone references Mr. Rhea's service in Companies I and C in the 1st Regiment, Missouri Engineers. The full inscription is:
