The campus evolved from 1975 to 1990. The site is 120 acres and has developed here since 1999. There is a nice new high school just SW. There is evidence of solar at the south side. A large football stadium. Paid student body parking and visitor passes required. It is rated in the top 25 of California Community Colleges. There are satellite campuses at Clear Lake and at Williams in Colusa County.
The website offers a choice of 12 languages and considers its community a multicultural one. They have a child development center, online classes, and bilingal services, and tutoring center.
