The Blue Angel Motel was
bulldozed in 2015, but the motel's memorable
Blue Angel weather vane was allowed to survive right where it is.
An active Facebook for the Blue Angel Motel has a collection of old photos.
From the Smithsonian AIC Description:
Full-length figure of a female angel in a blue dress with white wings. She has a halo, outstretched arms and holds a wand in her proper right hand. The figure stands atop a tall pole and pivots on occasion. The pole is attached to the neon sign for a motel.
From the Smithsonian AIC Remarks:
The sculpture is part of the signage for the motel. Located at her feet at the top of the pole on which she stands are eight rods which fan straight out in every direction. A light is affixed to the end of each rod.
