There is a small town park, but the lake is a DEC (state Department of Environmental Conservation) property and there is a DEC fishing access next to the park. The local rail trail runs by the park, the Jim Schug Trail.
"The lake attracts a wide variety of birds, especially waterfowl like Canada geese, mallards, wood ducks, teal, scoters, and mergansers to name just a few. Osprey are sometimes seen fishing the lake. You may even find a sandpiper or two feeding along the lake shore."

"Dryden Lake is considered by many to be the finest place in the Cayuga Lake Basin to view migrating waterbirds, and it is also an outstanding spot for seeing a variety of songbirds. Because of the lake's small size and numerous vantage points, it is possible (with the aid of a spotting scope) to check the entire lake for birds, and often get outstanding looks at anything that is present. geocache writeup:
"Located in a little known (at least to me) park in Dryden. There is a pavillion near by. This is a nice place to take the family and have a picnic. Pavillion has a couple of picnic tables and I think I remember seeing a place to do some BBQing. There is also some jungle gym equipment and swings for the kids to play on."
