This Grade II* listed church is of late C12th build, altered in the C14th and a north aisle added in c1895. It has the standard west tower to the central aisle, and partial aisles to the chancel built of squared coursed limestone with gritstone dressings. The roofs are slate with decorative ridge tiles.
This War Memorial has been placed on the west wall of the chancel immediately adjacent to the tower arch on its south side. It is an inscribed white marble slab with black marble surround on a shelf of white marble. The top of the memorial has a stepped pediment where the initial words of the dedication have been placed.
The inscription reads:-
