The War Memorial was dedicated by the RSL State President Mr. Keith Hall. The unveiling was performed by the local state member of Parliament & the oldest member of the RSL Sub-Branch.

Mr Keith Hall from Cootamundra was the first Vietnam veteran to have achieved the distinction of RSL President (NSW).

The plaque is worded:

This memorial was dedicated on the 4th day of October 2003 by the RSL State President Mr Keith Hall. The unveiling was performed by the local State Member of Parliament Mr Gerald Martin and Oberon's oldest living RSL sub-branch member Mr John Howell. Designed by Barry Byrom. The pedestal under the light was built of bricks from the original house owned by C W Cunynghame Jr.
