The sign also bears the abbreviation of the canton, as the municipal name Stein in Switzerland is not unique.

The house is a one-story concrete building with a flat roof and a double-staggered façade. It probably dates back to the 1980s.

DE: Die Post von Stein befindet sich an der Schaffhauserstrasse gleich gegenüber der Brücke nach Deutschland; die offizielle Adresse ist allerdings die der nächsten Seitenstrasse, obwohl es von da keinen öffentlichen Eingang hat. Das Schild trägt auch die Abkürzung des Kantons, da der Gemeindename Stein in der Schweiz noch an anderen Orten vorkommt.

Das Haus ist ein einstöckiges Betongebäude mit Flachdach und einer zweifach versetzten Fassade. Es stammt vermutlich aus den 1980er Jahren.
