In Search of a Soul: Designing and Realizing the New Canadian War Museum written by architect Raymond Moriyama was published by Douglas & McIntyre in 2006.
This book is not a typical building history. Rather, the book follows an architect's dreams. In the book's foreword, Governor General Adrienne Clarkson used wise words to describe Moriyama's career, words that could also describe the war museum: a visual concretization of reality mingled with a profound sense of the land and an acknowledgement of the spiritual.
For those waymarkers more interested in illustration than text, this book contains more photographs than pages.
Moriyama authored two very similar books in 2015 which may be more readily available. These books will also be accepted for this waymark: The Legacy Document: Canadian War Museum (ISBN: 9780660033983) and Document Fondateur: Musée Canadien de la Guerre (ISBN: 9780660033990).
