The TP point is on 50 cm height of the tower at the left of the entrance.
The history of the old Parish Church of St. Nikolaus in Rhede dates back to the 13th century. Parts of the Romanesque church architecture are preserved in the stone plinth of the tower and in the massive wall of the nave.Over the rest of this building, a late Gothic church was design. The upper floor of the tower is dated with the year number 1470. The three cross vaults inside the Church are decorated with Gothic paintings of vines and a representation of Christ dating back to 1511.A from St. Vitus in Meppen, Rococo altar, which was set up in the 1960s in the Church, are two statues of the two Kirchenheiligen from the 18th century in the Church of St. Margaretha and St. Vitus. Two more smaller statues of St. Anthony of Padua and of St. Joseph from the end of the 17th century are of unknown origin.
