She was born Edith Geneva Hopkins on 15 June 1909. She was a lifetime resident of the Powell, Missouri area (also home of Albert E. Brumley). She married her first husband Tommy Herman Beaver (b. 1906) on 11 June 1927. There were 3 children from that marriage. Tommy passed away in 1961 when Edith was 52 years old.

Four years later Edith remarried, in 1965, to William Tull Beal (b. 1897). He passed away in 1992 when Edith was 83 years old, and he is buried with his first wife Cora Mae. Edith continued on until 2 days before Christmas of 2009, at the age of 100.5, and she is buried with her first husband.
