Work of Catalan sculptor Robert Llimós in 2010, the Miraestels (Stargazers) are made of polyester and fibre-glass and depict two male figures standing legs astride on a buoy and floating nonchalantly on the Mediterranean in Barcelona's Vell Port while gazing up at the sky, hence their name. One thing visible only from the water is that each figure hides a coloured star behind its back, apparently representing the different cultures that make up Barcelona.
Robert Llimós i Oriol (Barcelona, 19 October 1943) is a prolific Catalan painter and sculptor. Son of impressionist painter Camil Llimós, figurative painting and drawing became his first passion.
