I have a Geodetic Control File on my Google Earth. I noticed this "was on the way" to a new cache within the park and just had to find it. It is marked by a single metal fencing stake. We had to chop the grasses away with our walking sticks to reveal the Benchmark.

From the Data Sheet: "Description: DESCRIBED BY OCS 2003 - FOUND 3 3\4" OCS ALUMINUM BENCHMARK DISK STAMPED "3AA-12-70", SET IN THE TOP OF A 6 IN. BY 6 IN. CONCRETE POST. MONUMENT IS LOCATED ALONG THE SOUTHEASTERLY SIDE OF THE ACCESS ROAD LEADING TO THE "SOUTH COAST COUNTY WATER DISTRICT COASTAL TREATMENT PLANT", FROM THE INTERSECTION OF ALICIA PARKWAY AND ALISO CREEK ROAD PROCEED 0.2 MILES SOUTHERLY ALONG ALICIA TO A PAVED ROAD LEADING WESTERLY, 0.9 MILES SOUTHWESTERLY ALONG SAID ROAD LEADING TO THE WATER TREATMENT PLANT, 35 FT. SOUTHEASTERLY OF ASPHALT ROAD, 12 FT. NORTHEASTERLY OF AN ANGLE POINT IN A BARBED WIRE FENCE AND 2.0 FT. SOUTHEASTERLY OF AN OCS STEEL WITNESS POST. MONUMENT IS SET 5.0 FT. BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE ROAD."
