St Mary's is a English Gothic style church with a stately tower and magnificent stain glass windows. Also connected to the church is a parochial school. The original church built on this site was of wood and erected in 1848 to serve the increasing population of Milford, fueled by the expanding shoe industry and Irish immigrates to the US. The first brick laid was in 1866 with the church opening December 25, 1870. The tower was added in 1890.
