Mount Qixing in Yangminshang Nationalpark is popular destination. The Lengshueikeng Visitor Station can be reached by bus from the outskirts of Taipei. It is a good place to start your hike up to the summit.
Depending on your physical condition and the weather you will use about 1½-2 hours before you reach the summit. A detailed description of the trail and how to get there can be found here: (

When I walked up to the summit it was very hot. Being from the northern part of Europe this can be quite challenging. Many parts of the trails have been turned into steps and walking there in the heat I really wished the steps were an escalator! At the top of Mount Qixing we could finally relax together with many other people. It was impossible to find shade but the local people knew how to protect from the sun with broad-brimmed hats!
Altitude in Feet: 2920
