In addition to the detail common of zinc headstones, this one has funeral draping near the plinth on both sides, with a pair of angels on the plinth on the front. The inscription is:

Lizzie
Payne,

Daughter of
Dr. J.M. &

Nancy B. Payne,

Born
Dec. 7, 1833,

Died
Sept. 8, 1883.

On the reverse is an epitaph:

'Twas not in terror, not
in wrath,
The reaper came that
day;
But an angel visited the
earth
And took our sister away.
