Located along Hwy. 65, this church is easy to spot with its golden onion dome. Russian immigrants constructed the worship center in 1917-8 on land donated by local farmer William Lucachick, and mass was first led by a priest from Chisholm. There are no pews as traditionally worshippers stand during the service; benches are provided for those unable to stand. The iconostasis was installed in 1926.
Restoration efforts were begun by Paul Berg, an Episcopal minister from Grand Rapids. The church was rededicated in 1968 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. A sign outside tells about the current preservation project.
