The monument on the main road in Hellum consists of a sphere (pearl) and nameplates. The plates are placed on a pedestal of Groningen brick. The pedestal is covered with a hollow, stainless steel plate. The memorial is 1 meter 60 tall, 1 meter 50 wide and 1 meter 50 deep.
The text on the memorial reads:

Het monument aan de Hoofdweg in Hellum bestaat uit een bol (parel) en naamplaten. De platen zijn geplaatst op een voetstuk van Groninger baksteen. Het voetstuk is afgedekt met een holle, roestvrijstalen plaat. Het gedenkteken is 1 meter 60 hoog, 1 meter 50 breed en 1 meter 50 diep.
De tekst op het monument luidt:
