While I have personally been affected by several kangaroos, the long-nosed bandicoot is quite rare, and seldom seen on the roadside. HOWEVER, I have never heard of a wild (or domestic) elephant being a roadside hazard on the Mid North Coast of NSW!

The first two animals are somewhat realistically coloured, so I am not sure why a BLUE elephant has been included on this (and another) sign on the approach to Scotts Head. It seems official. So I guess you have been warned.

Access: As you are leaving Scotts Head, pull up on the top of the hill, and walk down to take your photo.
