Sections of Roman wall, a Roman gate called Porta Praetoria and a reproduction of one of the aqueducts that carried water to the Roman city of Barcino can be seen at Plaça Nova in the Barri Gotic of Barcelona.

In Plaça Nova, you can find sections of Roman wall which are 3.5 metres thick. The entire perimeter of the Roman walls of Barcino was 1270 metres. On Plaça Nova you can see two square towers from the second Roman city wall dating from the fourth century AD. In the fifteenth century "Casa de l’Ardiaca", the Archdeacon's house was built on top of these walls. This building now houses Barcelona's historical archives in "Arxiu Històric de la Ciutat de Barcelona." The Roman gate on Plaça Nova was called Porta Praetoria, which lead into the street Decumanus Maximus. Later it was called the door del Bisbal (Bishop's Gate).
The current arch of the aqueduct is a reconstrucion which was built to show where the Roman aqueduct entered the city of Barcino. If you want to see an original part of a Roman aqueduct, then head for Tarragona, which has impressive Roman ruins
An information board at the Roman entrance gate to Barcino reads:
A gate to the city that was altered when building the second enclosing Barcino wall. Entry was through one of the main streets, the decumanus. One of the lateral passageways for pedestrians and the two semicircular towers that defended the gate have been conserved (1st-4th centuries AD). Beside we can see the reconstruction of one of the aqueducts that carried water to the Roman city of Barcino (end of 1st century AD).
