This museum has a walking tour outside here for free but admission is $8 for the public, Seniors and Kama?aina are $7, Kids ages 6-17 are $4, and toddlers ages 5 and under are free.
The museum has history and information about the 1960 tsunami. Did you know that Hilo, Hawaii is the Tsunami capital of the world? I didn't know that until I went into the museum. Also, you can find information of how tsunamis are formed and how dangerous they are. The nearby Tsunami Clock I recently posted got water damaged from the 1960 tsunami and stopped working at 1:05 am.
