"TOWNSEND Haidee Bell Townsend 100, of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2006 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born on dec. 17, 1905, the daughter of the late Samuel Jefferson and Haidee Verenice Bell Kennard Jr. She was a member of one of the Pioneer Families of Nassau County and spent her entire life in Fernandina. She was a graduate of Fernandina High School, class of 1920 and later married her late husband Richard Emerson Townsend. She was a lifetime member of St. Peters Episcopal Church. Mrs. Townsend was active in The Rose Garden Club and was a member of The Fernandina Beach Womens Club. She is survived by her Son and Daughter in law Richard Kennard Townsend and Martha Townsend, her Daughter, Marcia Townsend Kilgore, both of Jacksonville, Florida., her Grandchildren, Beth Townsend Conway, Elizabeth Kilgore Mundin and Caroline Kilgore Gross. Her Great grandchildren, SeanThomas Conway, Meghan Marie Conway, Anne Harvey Mundin, Elizabeth Townsend Mundin, William Marx Gross and Lydia Anne Gross. The family received friends Thursday at the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday ( TODAY ) from the family gravesite in St. Peters Episcopal Church Cemetery with the Rev. Rr. George Young, officiating. in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peters Episcopal Church Cemetery Fund/ 801 Atlantic Ave., Fernandina Beach, Fl. 32034."
