A la forêt des Trois-Pignons (Fontainebleau, très connus de varappeurs) se trouve une mer de sable : les sables du cul du chien.
"Cette curiosité géologique, immense plage sans mer, se trouve en plein cœur de la forêt domaniale.

Depuis le parking, il faut environ une vingtaine de minutes pour rejoindre le site. D'abord en plein forêt, puis sur un chemin à droite commence une allée de sable qui vous conduira aux sables du cul du chien.

Autour de cette immense mer de sable se trouve des blocs de grès petits ou grands. Parmi eux, un plus célèbre, le bilboquet, isolé dans le sable. En fait de bilboquet, on lui trouve plutôt une petite tête de chien.

L'évolution de sa stabilité est surveillée car elle reste incertaine et son escalade est interdite. En effet, la fissure de sa base arrière s’est ouverte avec les années et les vibrations dues aux évolutions des visiteurs au sommet ».
