From the State Park web site:

A tall Southern Pacific railroad trestle that crosses Gaviota Creek stands high above the day-use parking lot. At the west end of the beach is a pier (currently closed) with a boat hoist used by surfers, anglers, and scuba divers. Visitors can explore the rugged upland portions of the park from a trailhead in the parking area. Ambitious hikers can climb to Gaviota Peak that offers a spectacular view of the coast and the Channel Islands.

There is a park camp store open on weekends from 9AM to 5PM.
