The fountain is situated below the Palau Nacional on the Montjuïc mountain and near the Plaça d'Espanya and Poble Espanyol. The fountain, like most of the surrounding developments, was constructed for the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition.
Magic fountain of Montjuic music, light and water show is a top Barcelona attraction. Booking is not necessary; the fountain is free to visit. There is no seating and there are no entrance points. Visitors can go to the fountain anytime during the Magic Fountain show times.
Palau Nacional is a priviliged location to watch the Magic Fountain show with in the background the Plaça Espanya monumental fountain. Our three first pictures were taken from the Palau Nacional, behind the Quatre Columns.
