The sign in front of this adobe (which is now a Mexican restaurant called Fandango) reads:
"La Casa de Machado
1838 A partly finished adobe on this site sold to Juan Machado.
The completed adobe faced a rear alleyway called Calle de Panaderia
de Juan Machado (street of Juan Machado's bakery).
1843 Property expanded by Machado and later subdivided and sold
to incoming Americans for business purposes."
This building and sign should not be confused with another nearby building known as Casa de Machado y Silvas.
