Located on the campus of the Veteran Affairs Hospital is a rose garden and brick pavers with many names of businesses and individuals who contributed in some way towards this garden area. There's a metal plaque monumented on a brick base that reads:

THIS PROJECT IS
DEDICATED TO
THE VETERANS WHO
FOUGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM

FOR VETERANS
FROM VETERANS,
FAMILIES,
FRIENDS,
EMPLOYEES,
VISITORS,
AND THE COMMUNITY
OF THE
VA ROSEBURG HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

COORDINATED BY THE
VA LEADERSHIP CLASS OF 1998

Nearby this plaque are two separate pads made up donated brick pavers as well as a Blue Star Memorial.

This dedication plaque is part of a park that contains dedicated trees, rose garden, and a gazebo. One of the large, dedicated trees is a Moon Tree, a Douglas fir that was grown from a seed that flew into space as part of the Apollo 14 mission in the early 1970s. The tree was dedicated in 1976 in observance of America's Bicentennial and also dedicated to all Medal of Honor Recipients. This small park is one of the first things visitors see when entering the Veteran Affairs Hospital grounds.
