Description of Memorial: This dedication plaque is part of a park that contains dedicated trees, rose garden, and a gazebo. One of the large, dedicated trees is a Moon Tree, a Douglas fir that was grown from a seed that flew into space as part of the Apollo 14 mission in the early 1970s. The tree was dedicated in 1976 in observance of America's Bicentennial and also dedicated to all Medal of Honor Recipients. This small park is one of the first things visitors see when entering the Veteran Affairs Hospital grounds.
