The Desert Foothills Library sits on a hill overlooking the Town of Cave Creek. It has beautiful views of the surrounding Tonto National Forest. The library is a 501-3c organization and is funded largely by donations from the 8600 members of the community. It operates with a volunteer staff. It is not only a traditional library but also functions as a community center. On a recent visit there were groups working in all the meeting rooms and a Scrabble competition in one of the larger rooms. Within its 20,000 square feet it loans books, cd's, DVD's and magazines. Internet access is provided through 20 desktop and laptop computers and free Wi-Fi access is available.
