Located within a small park containing rose gardens and dedicated trees is a large Douglas fir tree. There's a small plaque at the tree's base that reads:

THIS TREE
DEDICATED BY THE VETERANS
ADMINISTRATION IN 1976 TO
AMERICA'S MEDAL OF HONOR
RECIPIENTS WHO HELPED
MAKE THIS BICENTENNIAL
OBSERVANCE POSSIBLE
"BY GALLANTRY ABOVE AND
BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY"

This Douglas fir has been slowly pushing up the concrete sidewalks that surround the tree's base.

This tree is listed on NASA's website here. There is also another webpage devoted to the Moon Trees of California and Oregon and can be visited here.
