The monument is detailed like many of the tall ones of the time. Side 1 has the family name, "Allen", on the plinth. The compass and square of the Freemasons is on the obelisk section, and below it is a quote from Hebrews 6:19:
Which hope we have as
an anchor to the soul,
both sure and steadfast,
and which entereth into
that within the veil: whith
er the forerunner is for
us entered.
The main panel has this inscription:
Rev. Archibald Campbell
Allen, D.D.
Born March 18, 1818, at Rockyface, N.C.
Departed This Life
Jan. 19, 1880, in Ft. Worth, Tex.
Side 2 has an open Bible on the obelisk section, and below it:
For in thee
O Lord
Do I Hope.
Panel 2 has this inscription:
Thomas Tucker
Allen,

Died
Aug. 21, 1879, in Paris, Tex.
Side 3 is blank, with an anchor -- a symbol of hope -- in panel 3. "Monumental Bronze Co, Bridgeport, Ct." is on the base.
Side 4 is also blank, save for panel 4, which says:
Mary Adeline Allen,
Wife of
A.C. Allen
