Molly's Rock Recreation Area was built on the site of an old homestead near a granite boulder known as Molly’s Rock. The origin of this name is uncertain. There is a picnic shelter here that was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) during the late thirty's or early forty's. Molly's Rock Recreation Area is part of the 370,442 acres that make up The Sumter National Forest. There is a nature trail here that is just over a half mile in length. If there is a trail system, please describe length, terrain, etc.: The hiking trail here is best described as a gently rolling .7 mile loop, just follow the white blazes to stay on the trail.
What points of interest are there?: There are two different wooden bridges on the trail here as well as a 1 acre fishing pond.
There are picnic tables, free standing cooking grills, a non flush restroom, a picnic pavilion and free parking.
What activities are available?: Hiking, fishing and Picnicking.
