Bugsy Siegal was an infamous mobster who was the driving force behind the construction and operation of the Flamingo Hotel and Casino. He lived on the casino's grounds int the so-called "presidential Suite" which was built of fortified walls and bullet-proof glass, and contained secret "getaway" passages.
Despite these precautions he was killed at his girlfriend's house in Palm Springs, CA. Presumably, he didn't "fortify" that location as well!
The Memorial can be accessed by entering the Flamingo casino floor and proceeding east to the enclose Flamingo Gardens are. From there, simply follow the signs posted to the right. For those averse to gambling, an alternate entrance to the Garden area is through the Hilton timeshare or the Flamingo shops entrance from the north.
There is no admission fee and access is available 24/7, though the area sees its fair share of newlyweds and picture takers.
