This beautiful piece of carved Maori sculpture was the Turangi winner of the Schools' Sculpture Competition, 2013. The Maori Pou was designed by Shaney Warena and carved by Mark Te Kahu. The sculpture was placed in the Turangi Town Centre and was blessed and unveiled at dawn on 11th June 2015. It stands on a stone plinth made from local river stones from the Tongariro river, a stunning piece of art work for Turangi.
