Marienkapelle im Lammertal
Das genaue Alter der Marienkapelle im Lammertal ist nicht bekannt. Sicher ist, dass das Kapellchen im Laufe seiner Geschichte mehrfach neu gebaut wurde. Überlieferungen zufolge soll auf der Anhöhe nahe dem Ort das erste Lützinger Gotteshaus überhaupt gestanden haben. Die Katholische Pfarrkirche "St. Lambert und Katharina" Niederlützingen selbst wurde im Jahr 1271 erbaut. Urkundlich nachzuweisen ist, dass im 16. Jahrhundert auf der Anhöhe ein Kapellchen stand; denn zur Reformationszeit hatte es große Bedeutung und wird in der Geschichtsschreibung mehrfach erwähnt. Die Geschichte der Kapelle ist äußerst wechselvoll.
Die Kapelle und das umliegenden Areal sind Eigentum der Katholischen Pfarrgemeinde "St. Lambertus" Niederlützingen, deren Gläubige sich gemeinsam mit der Ortsgemeinde um das kleine Gotteshaus kümmern. Jährlich am 1. Mai ist die Kapelle Ziel einer Prozession von Niederlützingen aus. Das Original der Muttergottes-Figur, das früher in der Kapelle stand, wird aus Sicherheitsgründen in der Katholischen Pfarrkirche "St. Lambert und Katharina" Niederlützingen aufbewahrt.
