On the paved walk out to the Emerald Beach trig point is a wooden slat bench, with a 'stainless steel' plaque for Aaron Tahere Nicholas, with the inscription, "Surfing the waves of Eternity", 30/12/1974 - 1/12/1995; with a couple of dolphins.

This bench has a GREAT view looking south from the headland.
There is also a marble plaque set into the concrete under the bench, which reads:
