The first post office was established in 1890 by the McGuires in a log structure that sat above where the Shuswap Bakery stands now. There was likely at least one more post office in the town before the brick post office on Hudson Street was completed in 1937, likely a Depression Era Make Work project of the Federal Government.
That post office remained in use until the opening of this one in 1974, further east on Hudson Avenue. Built of Concrete blocks, the building is somewhat rustic in appearance, with weathered horizontal shiplap boards installed over the windows. This is a full service post office, open from 8:30 to 5:00 weekdays. Post box access is available 6 AM to 8 PM.
