The mural is of a frontier rifleman next to a cannon. Behind the cannon is the dome of the Texas capitol building in Austin. In the center is a portrait of Sam Houston. Next to the portrait are a couple of teepees. Behind the portrait and the teepees is the US flag. Next to the teepees is the steamboat house then a raven and a pine tree.
