Ysbyty Treforys is the Welsh name for Morriston Hospital, the largest in Swansea, which has around 750 beds. Ysbyty Treforys is one of four major hospitals, run by the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Local Health Board. The board serves a population of about half a million people.
The hospital is continually being upgraded & improved since it first opened, in 1942. It currently looks a very modern hospital.
"Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board was formed on 1st October 2009 as a result of a reorganisation within the NHS in Wales and consists of the former Local Health Boards (LHBs) for Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend and also the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University NHS Trust. The Health Board covers a population of approximately 500,000 people and has a budget of £1.3 billion.
