Mr. Roberts was the son of Texas governor, Oran Milo Roberts (1815-1898), and he and his wife, Jimmie, had a son, buried nearby, that they named after his famous grandfather.
The Woodmen of the World emblem is on the monument's plinth, and above it is a peeled back piece of bark that is void of any inscription or camp number. The main inscription is:
