On the corner of Ross Street and Hudson Street NE is Ross Street Plaza where this most amazing mosaic is the backdrop for the stage located in the plaza.

At first glance, you actually may miss this mosaic. Would consider the colors more muted than most mosaics we have seen around Canada.
That said, this mosaic is the backdrop for the stage that hosts summer musical events. The plaza is beautiful and is well cared for by the city. The mosaic is huge and would estimate about 25 feet in length and is about 8 feet or so in height. It is so well done that it is difficult to describe without diminishing its artist grandeur.
It highlights salmon returning to spawn, flowers and trees; one of which is an established apple tree like those seen throughout the area.
A pheasant, songbirds and a soaring eagle are featured as well as the mountains in the background, even a raising sun all purposely place to be in harmony of the entire mosaic.
Unfortunately the artist is unknown and it was completed about 2014.
This is by far one of the most impressive mosaic we have seen in all our travels throughout Canada and the US.
Even if I wrote a thousand words it still would not convey it beauty. If you are ever in the area do stop by and see it for yourself.
