Maylands Aerodrome was the airport for Perth City from January 1924 until it was closed in June 1963. There is still evidence of it's existance as the hangars are still there ,now used as part of the W.A Police complex. The runways are now part of the local golf course. Several of the original landing lights are still in position near the sign. The centrepiece of the area is an outline of a Bristol Tourer set in seven metre concrete circle, around which are 15 information plaques that refer to organizations and the noteable people who flew out of Maylands between 1924 and 1963.
