A woman's husband died in a dynamite explosion in a quarry and was buried in the cemetary. She was left with only her son Lester until he was killed in an automobile accident. Distraught and lonely, for years she would come back to the very spot where her husband and son were buried, sit on a nearby tree stump and cry for her dead. The local townspeople deemed her to be crazy because when they would come to the cemetary, she would cry frantically and run into the woods until they left. Later she too died and was buried in Stepp Cemetary. Legend says that on a night with a full moon, you can still see her sitting on the tree stump crying and watching over her loved ones.
