A bronze sculpture of a pair of dancing bears dance on top of a 5' high pink granite fountain in Central Park. The bronze bears are 2' high by 1.5' wide. They were sculpted by Albert Humphreys and cast at the Pomponian Bronze Works. The sculpture was copyrighted in 1909.
The bears are standing on their hind legs facing each other. The larger bear is holding the shoulders of the smaller bear while the smaller bear is holding the larger bear at the waist. The bears dance on the pedestal of a fountain that also has a basin and octagonal base.
