It was a beautiful day in mid June when we visited the market, it was bustling with activity. We enjoyed looking at all the fresh herbs and potted tomatoes, fresh basil and other vegetables ready for planting.
You will find fresh local fruits and vegetables, local honey, baking, preserves, locally-made crafts, candles, fresh flowers, and even a garlic vendor, all grown locally. Food vendors line the street and a great place for people watching or rest a spell on one of the many benches.
The Market runs Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Grizzly Plaza, right in the heart of the downtown heritage district. The plaza is closed to all vehicles, leaving nothing but vendors and foot traffic. The market runs from May to October and during the winter months it continues at the Community Centre.
