This Victorian post box is set into a wall in Underbank next to St. Petersgate Bridge.

The town of Stockport is built on a Sandstone outcrop and has a number of different levels.

St. Petersgate Bridge was built high above Underbank to give better access to a new Market built at a higher level than Underbank.

The box built into a wall next to the bridge stands opposite some steps leading down from the bridge above.
