A number of giant sequoia seedlings were brought to Victoria around 1900, and this is likely one of them. This is one of many sequoias in Beacon Hill Park. Being located directly across the road from the petting zoo, and having large branches low to the ground, children can often be seen climbing on it. Sometimes, you can also see the park's resident peacocks perched on it.
