Robert William ("Billy Bob") "Dabbs" Greer was born in the small town of Fairview, Missouri (on MO-86), but grew up in Anderson, Missouri. I have talked to locals in Anderson who knew him, and I am told that he was well liked by everyone. His grave marker simply has R. WILLIAM GREER and his birth date and death date, on the one side that is. His marker is also shared by his parents, whose names and dates are on the other side of the same headstone. At the foot of his grave is a bench dedicated to Dabbs's memory.

Early on he was given the nickname Billy Bob, which is actually a reversal of his first and middle name, Robert William. Later, he acquired the moniker Dabbs from his grandmother's maiden name.

Description: Movie and TV character actor with over 300 credits. He received a BA degree from Drury College, which is in Springfield, Missouri. He then went on to the Pasadena Playhouse in California. In both Missouri (at Little Theater in Mountain Grove) and in California he was an instructor in drama.
