"A Civil War soldier stands with proper left leg extended forward, his foot over the edge of the base. He holds a rifle with both hands at the top of the barrel with the butt grounded in front of his proper right foot. His head is turned slightly down and to the proper right. He wears a billed cap which is pushed forward, a "US" cartridge box on his proper right hip, a knee-length coat and a short cape. The sculpture is mounted on a tiered base with a crested cornice and a star in relief in the crest at the front. Below this is a laurel wreath in relief containing the number "107" in the center."
