Sea Swimmer overlooks the natural pools in Millennium Park. This is a beautiful park located at 5th Street and 2nd Avenue east of downtown and it borders the Columbia River.

Sea Swimmer is a green sea turtle that is depicted it in the water. It is a large sculpture overlooking the natural pools on one of the pathways. Perched on a very detailed pedestal starfish, coral and a cascade of fish surrounds the base.
The sea turtle's detailing is so well executed one is drawn in to discover even more. The beaked mouth, bulbous head, hooded eye, longish neck and down to its curved flippers makes this one of the most remarkable sculptures we have seen in awhile.
The sculpture is made of shiny plate steel, and crafted by talented artist: Heather Wall. Sea Swimmer was featured in the 2014 Sculpture Walk in Castlegar. It has since been purchased and on permanent display in Millennium Park.
Millennium Walkway was officially opened in 2001, since then it has become one of the major recreational destinations for locals and tourists from around the world. Enjoy sandy beaches, newly developed natural ponds for wading and swimming, interpretive walkways near the confluence of the Columbia and Kootenay Rivers and Tin Cup Rapids. There are benches and picnic tables, washrooms and the new Celgar Pavilion all provided for your enjoyment.
