Standing on the west side of the
Evangeline Trail, one of the most scenic drives in the province, the post office is pretty much the same as most other small community postoffices in the Maritimes - tan colored brick, low pitched gable roof and a flag pole out front.
The village/community of Salmon River was built on the southern bank of the Salmon River, about 75 kilometres south of Digby and 25 kilometres north of Yarmouth. There's not much to see in Salmon River, just several houses and a few businesses. Didn't find any historic buildings of any sort.
